Meet Sequoya Clark of Big Blue O'Fallon
On the blog today, we're excited to feature March's Staff Member of the Month: Sequoya Clark who is an Assistant Manager at Big Blue O'Fallon!
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I am 28 and have two dogs named Henry and Atticus that keep me on my toes when I’m not at work. I love painting and having little “paint parties” with my family and friends. Much of my house is covered in paintings that I or friends have done over the years.
How long have you been a member of the Big Blue Swim School team?
I hit my two-year mark in January of this year! So I have been with Big Blue Swim School just a little over two years now!
What is your background?
I have worked with kids on and off for much of my life, but before Big Blue I went to school to be a Veterinary Technician and worked as a Vet Tech for about 3 years in clinic.
What does your job entail?
As an Assistant Manager I get to be a jack of all trades. I get to teach the kids, speak with parents about move ups and progress, and I get to assist the Swim Associates with coaching. I also get to participate in fun community events and showcase what makes Big Blue Swim School so great.

What is your favorite part about working at Big Blue?
My favorite part about working at Big Blue is being able to celebrate the big and small wins with the kids as they hit their swim goals and progress through the levels.
Do you have a favorite moment that you’ve been a part of during your time at Big Blue?
One of my favorite moments from working at Big Blue was getting to participate in the 4th of July parade and getting to pass out popsicles to the kids and watch them get excited about our big inflatable whale.
What is your favorite level to teach?
My favorite level to teach is Bigs. They go from feeling like all the extra laps in the Bigs level is outrageous to getting through them so fast without getting tired.

What kind of things do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I love to read or play The Sims. I have a ‘to be read’ list that is almost an entire book itself and my two bookshelves are almost entirely full.
How would your team describe you?
We love to joke around that I am the personality hire. My team would probably describe me as loud and bubbly and outgoing. I love to have fun with the staff and the kids.
Thank you so much to Sequoya for being such an incredible part of the Big Blue team! If you're an O'Fallon family, make sure to give her a shout-out the next time you're at the pool!
