Big Blue
Our Big Blue program helps confident swimmers ages 6+ master strokes, boost endurance, and prepare for swim team or lifelong success in the pool.
WHAT THEY WILL LEARN
What’s a Splash Zone™?
Splash Zones show how far your child can swim on their own—and as they grow their Splash Zone, they’re becoming safer, more confident swimmers. By the time they complete Big Blue, your swimmer will reach a Splash Zone of up to 1000 feet.
Big Blue 1
Underwater streamline: Perfecting the streamlined position to glide smoothly through the water, even underwater.
Butterfly arms: Learning the powerful and graceful butterfly arm movement for a strong stroke.
Breaststroke arms: Mastering the breaststroke arm technique for efficient and smooth movement.
Freestyle excellence: Swimming 600 feet with perfect freestyle technique—long, smooth strokes and controlled breathing.
Big Blue 2
Streamline to success: Perfecting the underwater streamline with a clean breakout to keep momentum after a powerful wall push.
Full butterfly: Mastering the full butterfly stroke for powerful, efficient swimming.
Individual medley: Learning the individual medley—swimming all four strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle) with smooth transitions.
1000’ challenge: Taking on the ultimate test—swimming 1000 feet with strong, efficient technique.
Swimmers who have mastered the foundations will focus more on technique with advanced swim instruction in a larger group and longer class time. Big Blue swimmers have the knowledge and ability to excel on swim teams and enjoy a lifetime of swimming.
WHAT FAMILIES LOVE
Exceptional Instructors
All our instructors complete 75+ hours of rigorous training—and ongoing development—to deliver expert water-safety and skill lessons at a comfortable, progressive pace. Passionate and certified, they go above and beyond to demonstrate new techniques and actively engage every swimmer.
45-minute Lessons
Big Blue offers 45-minute advanced lessons that are fun, goal-focused, and designed to refine all four strokes—freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Swimmers build endurance, confidence, and swim team readiness. Lessons take place in larger groups (up to seven) as they work toward swimming 1000 feet without stopping.
