April's Staff Member of the Month is Noah Turner! Noah is a swim associate at Big Blue Ann Arbor, and we are so lucky and proud to have him as a part of the Big Blue team! Read all about Noah below.
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
My name is Noah! I do track and field in the spring and love engineering (mechanical.) I have to younger siblings and enjoy anytime I can hang out with them. One thing I couldn’t live without is music, I enjoy almost any genre.
How long have you been a member of the Big Blue Swim School team?
I have been member of the Big Blue Swim School team for roughly 7 months and started back in October of 2024.
What is your background?
I moved around a lot growing up and because of that I have been able to see and travel to a lot of cool places, like Japan. Before working at Big Blue I ran a tutoring business to kids help in math.

What does your job entail?
As a swim instructor throughout that day I get to work with a lot of cool kids. I teach multiple curriculums (Baby, Bright, Bold, Big) based both on skill and age. I get to sing songs in my baby classes and play games with the kids in my Bigs classes.
What is your favorite part about working at Big Blue?
My favorite part about working at Big Blue is getting to help and watch the kids grow in both their swimming abilities and into their own people. Helping a kid go from being terrified to get into the water to seeing them thrive is really cool to me.
Do you have a favorite moment that you’ve been a part of during your time at Big Blue?
My favorite moment from Big Blue was moving up my first kid. After that moment I really felt like I had a starting point to thrive off of.
What is your favorite level to teach?
My favorite level to teach has to be Big 2 with a very close Baby 1 in second.
What kind of things do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I love to work out, listen to music, play sports, hang out with friends and family, and engineer stuff in CAD.

How would your team describe you?
I think my team would describe me as goofy at times, but overall someone they can count on.
Thank you to Noah for being such an incredible part of the Big Blue team! If you're an Ann Arbor family, make sure to give her a shout-out the next time you're at the pool!
