What to Expect at Your Kid's First Swimming Lesson at Big Blue

Welcome to Big Blue Swim School! We are so excited that you'll be joining us soon for your family's first swimming lesson. We hope this post will help you know what to expect for your first visit.

When you first walk through the doors at Big Blue, you will be greeted by a friendly member of our front desk staff. They are there to welcome you and help with any questions you might have about the facility, scheduling, or your swimming lessons.

A few minutes before your swimming lesson begins, a staff member will call you to the pool entry and check swimmers in one at a time using an iPad. They will then direct swimmers to their assigned lanes.

Parents and caregivers of our Baby Blue swimmers, don't forget to bring your own suits and towels as well! One adult will need to accompany each Baby Blue swimmer in the pool.

Parents of older kids can take a seat and relax in our spacious viewing area, equipped with comfortable seats and free Wi-Fi in case you need to get a little work done during the lesson.

You will see managers and staff with iPads on deck monitoring progress at every swimming lesson. With Big Blue's perpetual weekly swim lessons, your swimmer is able to complete a skill or progress to the next level as they are ready, not when a schedule dictates. Be sure to check your Parent Portal or the Big Blue App so you can see how your swimmer is progressing through each skill week to week.

At the end of your swimming lesson, your swimmer can rinse off on the pool deck and stop by the hair drying station to get dried off before heading outside.
