Meet Jessica Velarde Criado of Big Blue Springfield!

Another month means another featured Big Blue staff member! This time, meet Jessica who is the General Manager at Big Blue Springfield! Jessica's enthusiasm for her job shines through every interaction she has with staff, families, or swimmers. We are so lucky to have her on the Big Blue team, and hope you'll enjoy reading more about her below!

Tell us a little bit about yourself!

My name is Jessica I'm the GM of the Springfield, VA location. I love working with kids. My hobbies are hot yoga, going to the beach and kayaking. I love being outside, especially around water.

How long have you been a member of the Big Blue Swim School team?

I have been a member of the Big Blue Swim School team for about two and a half years!

What is your background?

My professional background is in management.

What does your job entail?

My job entails, training our staff, supporting my Assistant Managers, and having fun with our students!

What is your favorite part about working at Big Blue?

My favorite part about working at Big Blue is teaching classes and connecting with our students.

Do you have a favorite moment that you’ve been a part of during your time at Big Blue?

My favorite moment was when we opened the Springfield location, during our Family Fun Day we had a dunk tank, face painting and lots of dancing!

What is your favorite level to teach?

My favorite level to teach is Bigs!

What kind of things do you like to do outside of work?

I like to kayak, go to the beach and do hot yoga.

How would your team describe you?

Work driven, people-person, silly, outgoing!
