Water Safety
Essential water safety resources for families
Sadly, drowning is the leading cause of death among children ages 1-4 and is a top concern for families, especially those with young children. At Big Blue Swim School, we are committed to increasing water safety awareness and equipping families with the knowledge they need to keep their children safe around water.
Water Safety Advocacy at Big Blue
Because water safety is so important to us at Big Blue, we want to provide helpful resources and knowledge to as many families as we can. To do this, we hope to partner with others in the communities we serve who also work closely with children and families! When it comes to spreading awareness, it takes an entire community.
Our Water Safety Advocate Program is for anyone in our local communities who work closely with families and are interested in providing resources and tools for water safety. This could be anyone from a pediatrician to a t-ball coach, to school social workers or PTA members, all who want the best for the families they support! If that's not you, that's okay - in addition to resources for community members, we've linked other resources below for all caregivers which can be downloaded and used at home.
Resources for Community Partners
Our teams have several water safety tools that can be provided for distribution to families, like a water safety checklist, water watcher card and more (see parent and caregiver resources linked below). We can also come to locations to provide water safety presentations, or host groups at your local Big Blue. As part of this partnership, we’re able to feature your group or business across several channels, including blogs and social media. This program is free and available to any member of the community with similar goals and values. If you’re interested in partnering with Big Blue and distributing water safety materials to members of your community, we’d love to hear from you!
